Hallmarking

As an online retailer selling precious metal jewellery in the UK we comply with the rules laid out by law in the Hallmarking Act 1973.

All our silver jewellery is made from 925 sterling silver. This means that 92.5% of the jewellery is pure precious silver.

Sterling silver jewellery weighing less than 7.78 grams is exempt from hallmarking (see below).

Regardless of weight, the majority of our designs that are big enough to be hallmarked bear the 925 Sterling Silver Fineness Mark.

Gold Vermeil

Our gold vermeil jewellery is made from 14k, 18k or 24k gold plated 925 sterling silver.

Gold Filled

Our gold filled jewellery (also known as rolled gold) is created by mechanically bonding a thick layer of 14k gold to a layer of brass.

The outer gold layer must be at least 1/20 of the overall metal content by weight, making it a more durable alternative to gold plating.

Our gold filled earring hooks and chains are marked ‘GF 14/20’ or ‘1/20 14K GF’ indicating the item is 14k gold filled.
